Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What is the difference between a case process review and a qualitative case review?A. A Case process review consists of reviewing case files for CPS, in-home and foster care program areas in order to monitor compliance with certain policy and statute requirements. For a qualitative case review, the case file is read and all people involved with the case are interviewed to assess the current status of children and their families as well as the assessment of the performance of system functions performed by DCFS. A qualitative case review takes place annually once per month for each region and a case process review evaluates cases for a specific range of time.
